Former EA exec latest to leave social games firm

Zynga’s games EVP Barry Cottle departs

Barry Cottle has left his position as executive vice president of games at Zynga.

He leaves after almost three years with the social games publisher, having joined the firm from EA Interactive back in early 2012.

Cottle’s departure is notable in that he is one of the last high-ranking executives hired by former CEO Mark Pincus, according to GamesBeat. Pincus was replaced by former Xbox boss Don Mattrick.

Zynga has seen a lot of executive shuffling this year, with a trio of key execs leaving back in June. This is part of Mattick’s ongoing plans to restructure the company, which has struggled to maintain its success in the past few years.
