DICE Summit heading to GCA

Games Convention Asia will for the first time host its own DICE Summit, organisers have announced.

Opening on the first day of GCA, DICE Summit Asia will host talks from the likes of Gas Powered Games founder Chris Taylor, as well as Japan’s NanaOn-Sha president Masaya Matsuura.

The annual DICE Summit, which is held in Las Vegas, is an event focused on discussing game design trends and breakthroughs. The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences now hope to install the show’s sentiment in the separate Asia event.

"As the cultural influence of games has become truly global,” said Academy president Joseph Olin. “It seemed only natural to create a similar forum to serve the game-makers in Asia-Pacific."

Games Convention Asia organisers LMI Asia said the deal “validates” a need for an Asian games convention.

"The partnership with the AIAS for the first DICE Asia Summit adds significantly to GCA’s strategy to provide a high-level business platform,” he said.

GCA opens between September 17-20 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
