Digital PC games outsold mobile titles last year

The smartphone sector is king, consuming all other formats in its wake, right? Apparently not. Actually, the good ol’ PC still rules the roost.

The latest report by SuperData Research shows that the downloadable PC games market earned over $32bn last year – significantly more than the $25.1bn earned by mobile games. This includes premium titles, free-to-play and subscription-based MMOs, and social games.

Even the combined earnings of the Top 10 downloadable PC games surpassed the Top 10 mobile games of 2015, with the two figures coming in at $6.3bn and $6.18bn respectively.
