Dr Jo Twist, OBE to host MCV’s Women in Games awards

Dr Jo Twist, OBE will be taking the stage as the host of our fourth annual Women In Games Awards, celebrating some of the finest women working in the European games industry.

The ceremony will take place at Facebook’s offices in Rathbone Square, London, and Twist is the perfect choice to preside over it, having a large role in making women more visible in the UK games industry in her capacity as the CEO of UK games industry trade body Ukie.

Twist joined Ukie in 2011, coming from a role as commissioning editor for education at Channel 4. She’s brought her experience with education, creative technology and youth culture to Ukie, and has since become a well-known face in the games industry, representing the industry both at home and abroad as the UK powers forwards in video games. As one of the more visible women in the games industry, she’s a fantastic choice to front the ceremony and help celebrate the many amazing women that work in the industry.

For those of you joining us, the event is now just a couple of weeks away. For those who aren’t, there’s more information on the event here, and you can see the WIG Awards nominees shortlist here.
