Dragon Age anime announced

BioWare and EA are teaming up with a leading anime firm to produce a feature film based on the acclaimed Dragon Age franchise.

The anime movie will be handled by Funimation, a US distributor of popular anime series such as Dragon Ball Z, Afro Samurai and Full Metal Alchemist.

Production of the Dragon Age movie is due to begin soon and will be released straight to DVD in 2011.

We are going to be bringing the classic visual and storytelling techniques found in anime to create a film that will extend the narrative of the world BioWare has created.”
