Japanese publisher Namco Bandai has tied up with E-Xpress Interactive to release its games in India.
E-Xpress is one of India’s largest game distributors and also represents other publishers such as Warner Bros Interactive, 2K Games, Rockstar Games, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Sega, THQ and Bethesda. The company also operates Games The Shop, a specialist game retail chain with nine stores across India.
Prior to this deal, Namco’s games were sporadically released in India by various distributors, with recent releases like The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition and Ridge Racer: Unbounded being released by Milestone Interactive.
Namco is best known for its Tekken, Soul Calibur and Ridge Racer franchises, and also publishes games based on popular entertainment properties such as Naruto, Dragon Ball Z and Ben 10.
Namco’s first release through E-Xpress will be Saber Interactive’s gravity-defying shooter Inversion, which is scheduled for release on June 7. Future releases include Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, and Dragon Ball Z for Kinect.
