E3 08: ‘PS3 Home will reward your patience,’ promises Sony

Sony pledegd that consumer patience for the long-awaited comunity platform Home will be "rewarded" at its E3 press conference today – but there was no word of an official release date.

SCEA CEO and president Jack Tretton revealed that the service has enjoyed "great support" from publishers and evelopers keen to add content.

He also unveiled that EA, Ubisoft, LucasArts and Activision had all signed up to provide content to the platform – as had "non-gaming partner" Nike.

He said: "I promise, when PlayStation Home is finally publicly available, your patience will be more than rewarded. We’ve combined games film, music and branded content to provide the ultimate social experience for gamers.

"We’ve enjoyed great developer and publisher support. We’ve seen great momentum from Ubisoft, which has already been involved in the Beta of the service, but I can now announce that EA, Activisiona nd LucasArts have also all signed up to provide content – along with non-gaming partner Nike.

A brief video was then shown of Home, featuring ‘social networking’ activity within Resistance: Fall Of Man, Warhawk and Drake’s Fortune.
