In a move that perhaps kicks off what will be an intense six months of campaigning and rivalry, it has been discovered that the URL www.ModernWarfare3.com redirects to the homepage of rival game Battlefield.
The URL appears to have been registered anonymously, though some – such as Future site GamesRadar – are openly pointing the finger at Battlefield publisher EA.
Kotaku reckons that prior to the redirect the site contained an anti-Call of Dutyvideo and the following text:
Modern Warfare is crap. On November 8th, 2011, the most over-hyped first-person action series of all-time returns with the copy and paste sequel to the lackluster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
