The legal battle between Zynga and EA over alleged copyright infringement has come to an end.
EA filed suit last August, claiming that Zynga’s The Ville was an “unmistakable copy” of The Sims Social.
Zynga fired back with motions stating The Ville was not a clone and countersued EA, claiming the publisher was engaging in anti-competitive business practices with a particular focus on its recruiting practices.
According to All Things D, all claims have been dissmissed with prejudice by the U.S. District Court of Northern California.
“EA and Zynga have resolved their respective claims and have reached a settlement of their litigation in the Northern District of California,” read an identical statement provided by both companies.
The terms of the settlement remain undisclosed.
Since the case was dissmissed with prejudice the same matter cannot be brought to court again.
