EA shares jump after sale rumours

Electronic Arts shares have jumped this morning after rumours the company has been in talks with private-equity firms about a possible buyout.

It was reported yesterday that the game publisher had been in preliminary discussions with two private-equity firms, KKR and Providence Equity Partner.

EA was up $1.29 (9.9 per cent) to $14.38 this morning.

EA shares through yesterday were down approximately 37 per cent from this time last year.

In the Post, an anonymous source valued the company at $20 a share.

EA declined to comment when contacted by Develop.
