Electronic Arts has netted 1m UK sales of FIFA in record time.
MCV understands that the latest game in the hit franchise passed the 1m unit barrier earlier this week.It means that FIFA 12 has enjoyed the most successful launch for the series to date.
According to Gfk Chart-Track, 18 per cent more copies of FIFA 12 were sold in the first two days than its predecessor.
And to prove that FIFA doesn’t need a price war to break records, this year’s game generated 34 per cent more revenue than last year’s title.
This time, retailers held fire on aggressively reducing the price – meaning the game retained its slightly higher 54.99 RRP.
Overall, UK games retailers took 54.8m last week and sold 1,549,075 units, making it the most successful week for the market so far this year.
