Today the Nordic Game conference saw Quantic Dream joint-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere step up as the new president of the European Games Developer Federation (EGDF).
de Fondaumiere will replace ex-Tiga CEO and outgoing chair Fred Hasson, as part of a wider board-member shuffle. Hasson himself will continue to work with EGDF and will head up the body’s Online Interest Group.
"I am deeply honoured to have been elected President of the EGDF today," said de Fondaumiere. "I would like to thank Fred Hasson for his dedication, enthusiasm and the hard work with which he lead the EGDF.”
The new president spoke of the importance of the EGDF, mentioning the body’s influential role when French developers were negotiating a 20 per cent tax credit scheme for game development.
“The EGDF is now well structured and still growing its membership and now capable of taking a central position in the coming years to make sure the European development sector remains vibrant and competitive,” added de Fondaumiere.
“I shall do my best, in close cooperation with my fellow board members, to represent and defend the interests of all European studios.”
