But game won't be going free-to-play

Elder Scrolls Online drops subscription model

Bethesda has dropped subscription fees for its fantasy MMO The Elder Scrolls Online.

The pay-monthly model will officially be ditched on March 17th. Players will still be able to sign up to premium membership however through ESO Plus to receive extra in-game items and access to future content.

The game will not be going free-to-play, as new players must still pay an up-front fee for the title.

A console version of the title will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on June 9th.
