Epic’s Capps to give GDC Europe keynote

Epic Games president Dr Michael Capps will give the keynote address at this year’s Game Developers Conference Europe.

The session will be entitled ‘Size Doesn’t Matter: How Epic Brings AAA Attitude to Every Game, from Gears of War 3 to Infinity Blade’. Capps will discuss the similarities between the production of all of the studios titles, be they for consoles or for mobiles, downloadable or for retail.

“Epic’s name is one of the few that resonates just as much with the game makers as it does the game players – having brought to market arguably the most successful game engine of all time, alongside major game franchises such as Gears of War,” said Frank Sliwka, vice president of European business development and event director of GDC Europe.

“Dr. Mike Capps is a true industry stalwart, leading Epic Games to triple-A hits time and time again. GDC Europe attendees will take away many valuable lessons from Dr. Capps and leave with new insights on how best to maximize resources.”

GDC Europe takes place from August 15th to August 17th in Cologne, Germany.
