ESL Pro League to be streamed exclusively on YouTube according to report

The next season of the ESL Pro League CS:GO competition will be streamed exclusively on YouTube according to a report.

Slingshot eSports cites sources with a knowledge of the deal, who say that the deal between YouTube and the World eSports Association (WESA) will see season five of the Pro League broadcast on the ESL YouTube channel every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This means that the competition will not be available on Twitch, which is a shock move. Many eSports fans watch exclusively on Twitch, and as a result YouTube stream numbers are often well below that of Twitch’s. However streaming services securing exclusive rights for a major competition is something that has been expected for a while.
