$250,000 H1Z1 tournaments to take place at Dreamhack Atlanta this weekend

Daybreak Games’ H1Z1 Elite Series is kicking off this weekend, with Dreamhack Atlanta playing host to two H1Z1: King of the Kill tournaments, with a collective prize pool of $250,000.

There are two tournaments, one for five person groups and one for solo players. It’s planned as the first stop of the tour for H1Z1, with the tournaments being broadcast live from the show floor at Dreamhack Atlanta.

The top finishers from the earlier Fight for the Crown tournament will attend. The five teams are Counter Logic Gaming, Obey Alliance, Denial esports, Worlds Best Gaming and Luminosity Gaming. They’ll be joined by seven more teams from 24 competing in the qualifiers, with Noble, Echo Fox, Panda Gaming and SoaR Gaming all hoping to come through the qualifiers to compete in the final for the team prize of $150,000.

The solos will start with 120 competitors brawling through solo qualifiers, with the 40 best-performing players joining 20 pre-selected individuals in the solo tournament, with a prize of $100,000.
