Alex “Machine” Richardson is the host for the Boston Major

Alex “Machine” Richardson has been announced as the host for the upcoming Dota 2 Boston Major.

This will be Machine’s first Dota 2 event, having traditionally worked on shooters such as Call of Duty and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive while employed by ESL.

Earlier this month Machine decided to leave ESL to pursue a freelance career. He has already secured a nice role hosting The Bridge, a new daily eSports talk show on Ginx TV, and with Dota now added to his list you can expect to see him at a lot more events over the coming year.

Joining Machine in Boston are many of the usual Dota personalities including the likes of ODPixel, Capitalist, TobiWan and Purge. Ioannis "Fogged" Loucas has also been invited to a Valve event for the first time, with Pyrion Flax also making a return to the desk. SirActionSlacks will also be running around, presumably interviewing players and fans in his trademark comedic style.

The Boston Major kicks off on December 3rd, with the final taking place on December 10th. $3 million is on the line, as the best teams from around the world compete in a single elimination bracket.
