Capcom Cup’s top eight to be broadcast on ESPN2 one day after the event concludes

The top eight portion of the Capcom Cup will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Sunday December 4th.

This part of the competition will actually take place at the PlayStation Experience on December 3rd, when it will be streamed live on Twitch. However ESPN2 will then rebroadcast the final stages of the competition the next day. The ESPN broadcast will kick off at 8:30 PM EST.

While broadcasting the event live is the ideal solution it’s not surprising that they have decided to re air the competition 24 hours after it ends. Back in July when ESPN aired the Street Fighter competition from EVO there was multiple tech issues that lead to most people just switching to the Twitch stream. With 24 hours edit the broadcast all tech issues should be removed and there is the potential for extra features to be added for the ESPN audience.

Over the weekend we found out that both Misterio and Tse444 will miss out on the Capcom Cup with K-Brad and Yukadon taking their places. On December 2nd the first rounds of the event will take place at the Esports Arena in Santa Ana with the top eight, which is the part that will be re-broadcast on ESPN2, takes place on December 3rd at PlayStation Experience at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim.
