EGL set to host Call of Duty World League event in Sheffield

Rounding out the announcement of UK Call of Duty World League events is The European Gaming League, who will be hosting a CWL even in Sheffield.

The EGL competition will take place at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield on June 25th and 25th. 64 teams will compete, with 12 being placed directly into pool play by pro points. Interestingly only EU teams will be allowed to compete.

Up for grabs is a share of the $25,000 prize pool and 38,000 pro points, which of course are what will determine the teams that make it to the CWL LAN and CoD Champs.

This now means that there will be at least four CWL events in the UK this year. Gfinity will be running two, while Multiplay will host one at Insomnia 60 and now EGL are also in on the action. This is a big step up from the limited CWL events that the UK saw last year.
