ESL hires former Fox Sports exec to improve TV output

ESL has announced that it has hired former Fox Sports exec and one of the people behind the Championship Gaming Series, David Hill.

Hill said this his role will be to “make gaming [TV] network-ready, because we firmly believe the next big thing in entertainment is video gaming,” when speaking to Variety.

First on Hill’s agenda is changing the ESL broadcasts, by bringing in TV style production and searching for new broadcast talent to become the new Joe Buck and Terry Bradshaw, two of Fox Sports’ top on air broadcasters.

The Variety report also mentioned that ESL may be considering pay per view options for its big events, which would surely be a risky move. Some members of ESL have since denied this is the case on Twitter.
