ESL partner with Emirates for in-air esports streaming

ESL have announced a deal with Emirates Airline, allowing passengers on any Emirates flight to watch on-demand esports content from ESL in-flight.

The partnership is a big one for esports fans, the first of its kind to allow air passengers to watch esports matches on demand using an in-flight entertainment system.

The deal with include a variety of former content across several different games, but will also encompass ESL’s future stadium events, like ESL One Cologne or the Intel Extreme Masters.

Torsten Haux, VP of Global Media Rights at ESL, has said in a statement that the news is good for the visibility of esports on the global stage: “At ESL, we are always looking to increase the visibility of esports and are happy to work with Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, on our first inflight entertainment deal.

“As a truly global company with events all around the world, I’m sure that players and fans will enjoy ESL’s esports highlights as they travel on Emirates airline.”
