FaZe Clan signs Overwatch team

FaZe Clan has signed an Overwatch team made up of former Quake and Counter-Strike pros, as well as top Overwatch talent.

The roster, which has come together for the first time under the org, includes Sabian CLAMP” Hayblum, Daniel fRoD” Montaner, Kevin Wonderfuls” Nguyen, Lucas mendokusaii” Hakansson, Marcel Veineless” Lehmann and Elvinas evokje” Padegimas.

CLAMP is a former professional Quake player and was considered one of the best in the world. fRoD is a former Counter-Strike champion, and considered to be one of the best North American CS players ever, even being named North America’s eSports player of the decade for 2000-2010. fRoD most recently competed in the Complexity CS:GO team earlier this year, but failed to find any success.

Unfortunately the roster’s first outing was unsuccessful as the team lost all of its games in the OG Invitational, finishing last in the group. The tournament offered up a $25,000 prize pool and featured many of the top Overwatch teams, including the likes of Luminosity, Cloud9 and and EnVyUs.

The expansion into Overwatch means FaZe Clan now has teams in Call of Duty, CS:GO and Overwatch, with the latter two games being added in the last 12 months. The organisation is clearly trying to expand, and has signed multiple partnership deals recently, including one with Turtle Beach around the new Elite Pro headset.
