FaZe Clan win $500,000 after ELEAGUE CS:GO victory

FaZe snagged $500,000 last night, securing victory in the ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier grand finals with a 2-0 victory over Astralis.

FaZe came back from a dominant opening on Cache that saw Astralis leading 12-3 at the start of the first half, from there, FaZe came into the game like a hurricane and finished the first match 16-14, before dominating the second game (on Overpass) throughout.

This is FaZe’s second win in as many months, with the team winning the championship title at ESL One New York back in September and they’re currently one of the strongest teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s ever-changing competitive scene, with a 15-0 record at recent LAN events.

While FaZe has only really come to life in the past couple of months, before this we had an entire summer of SK dominance, with the Brazilian team coming to Europe to win several tournaments in quick succession. That streak ended with as little fanfare as it started, so many people are querying how long FaZe can continue to consistently perform. Now the pressure is on to keep up the streak at EPICENTER 2017, which will take place in Saint Petersburg from October 23 to October 29.
