Final set of maps coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

After a month of waiting the final set of original maps are coming to the Call of Duty 4 remaster.

The new update coming to all platforms on December 13th will up the map count from 10 to all 16 original maps. For those that weren’t around to play the original game the missing maps are: Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike and Wetwork, all of which will be added next week.

But that isn’t all that the update brings, as two new game modes are also being brought in. Both Hardpoint and Gun Game will be added with the update. The two modes have been staples of almost every Call of Duty in recent years, but neither were present in CoD 4.

Competition in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered title has been limited, but Gfinity has been running online cups for it since launch, alongside Infinite Warfare. According to Martin Wyatt, Gfinity’s head of partner relations, they have both been doing well.

“They have both done really well. The IW ones do slightly better just because there are more of them, but obviously everyone loved MW so having the online side of things facilitating the opportunity to take part is great,” said Wyatt. “They are both going really well. CoD is such a popular game, it’s certainly in the top two or three online titles that we run tournaments for in terms of participation numbers, and the great news is that they are always growing.”
