Four of the pro teams participating in the Gfinity Elite Series revealed

Gfinity has announced four of the eight organisations that will be fielding teams in its Elite Series competition.

Team Infused, Excel eSports, Reason Gaming and Prophecy are the first four teams to be announced for the competition, with the final four expected to be announced in the coming days.

All four of these teams will draft players at the Elite Draft to add to their teams. These teams and players will then compete in weekly competitions at the Gfinity Arena to determine who is the best in the Elite Series.

All four teams will be competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rocket League and Street Fighter V. It is currently unknown what will happen to the CS teams that are already signed to some of these organisations.

"As a UK-based company, we’re really proud to announce that the first four teams competing in our inaugural Gfinity Elite Series have deep roots here in the UK, and a proud history and reputation for excellence in the UK and international eSports community,” said Neville Upton, Chief Executive Officer, Gfinity. “There is incredible eSports talent here in the UK, from team managers to players, and the Elite Series is our commitment to providing them with a world-class tournament, helping to bring more exposure to the UK scene. This is shaping up to be a hugely exciting tournament that showcases, supports and invests in the future of UK teams. Watch this space for more exciting team announcements in the coming weeks."
