GAME launches Call of Duty tournaments at its BELONG arenas

GAME has announced the details of its first grassroots eSports competition that will take place in its new BELONG Arenas.

The competition will be a Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare tournament with a £1,000 prize pool. Qualifying rounds will determine the best teams from each of the participating stores, which include Bristol, Gateshead, Hull, Manchester and Portsmouth. These teams will then play in a league format from March 19th, with the top two teams being invited to the final at one of the Arena’s.

The team that wins will nab the chance to play against the best team’s in Europe at the CWL event at Insomnia60.

“esports is one of the most exciting and fastest growing elements of gaming today,” said  Craig “Wizzo” Fletcher, SVP esports and Competitive Gaming Strategy at GAME. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Activision on Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to bring the BELONG Arena Clash to Call of Duty players up and down the country. This tournament gives the first taste of what’s to come for our esports activity, which will focus on our commitment to grassroots gaming and discovering and supporting the very best talent from across the UK’s thriving esports scene. Our introduction of BELONG at the end of last year provides the ideal environment to stage world-class gaming experiences for our communities and fans. We’re excited to be bringing these experiences to more towns in the weeks and months ahead as we continue to roll-out more BELONG Arenas.”
