IEM Katowice to hold $30,000 female CS:GO tournament

At the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice event eight of the best female CS:GO teams will compete for a share of $30,000. 

The group stage of the competition will take place on March 2nd with the playoffs happening on March 3rd. All the action will take place on the floor of the IEM Katowice event. 

The eight teams are yet to be decided, with two teams from Europe and two teams from North America receiving invites. These teams will be announced in the coming weeks. The final four teams will come from online qualifiers. Two teams will be decided in the EU qualifier on January 28th and 29th, then a further team will be decided in the EU qualifier on Feb 4th and 5th. The final team will come from the NA qualifier that is also due to take place on Feb 4th and 5th. 

The competition will sit alongside the main IEM CS:GO event that will see the world’s top teams compete for the title of IEM World Champion.
