League of Legends is getting an Australian reality TV show

League of Legends is the latest game to get a reality TV show, with a new Australian reality series, The Next Gamer, that is looking to find a single League of Legends player who could be a pro.

It’s standard reality TV fare, with 40 gamers getting pared down to the solo winner over the course of a few weeks.

The initial 40 players will compete over five days to try and win one of ten slots in the The Next Gamer house in Sydney. Then they’ll go through a further week of tests and tasks over the course of a second week before the team will be narrowed to the final five.

Those five players will then face off against an Oceanic Pro League team for the live finale, after which a winner will be crowned.

It’ll be taking place on YouTube, and the winner will snag 10,000 Australian dollars and a six-month contract with a professional League of Legends team that hasn’t yet been specified. Applications were live, however they seem to have vanished. You can look at the website here and wistfully dream of a time when you could have applied in the meantime.
