Michael Phelps will present the best eSports player award at The Game Awards this week

Geoff Keighley has announced that he has roped in multiple Olympic medal winner Michael Phelps to present the award for the best eSports player at his big shindig this week.

Phelps will head to The Game Awards on Thursday December 1st to present the award to the winner. The nominees include Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, Marcelo "Coldzera" David, Woo "ByuN" Byun-Hyun, Lee "Infiltration" Seon Woo and Juan "Hungrybox" Debiedma.

The Game Awards aims to celebrate all of the best achievements in the world of videogames over the past year. It has also been the place where many publishers reveal new games and show off new trailers. The awards themselves are given out in a variety of categories, and this year the world of eSports is getting a little more love. Alongside player of the year there is also awards for best eSports team and best eSports game.
