Multiplay announce winter event I62 to be cancelled, I62 to take place next year

Multiplay’s I62 event has been delayed, the company have announced.

A forum post from Michael ‘Geosnipe’ Lambert reveals that Insomnia 61, which takes place in 3 weeks, would be the last event of the year, with the expected Insomnia 62 Winter Event to be delayed.

“We worked incredibly hard to find an alternative venue to make a winter show more affordable during the Christmas season, as this was the feedback from many of you last year,” said Lambert. “ However we were unable to source a location that would have provided a cheaper price point for our customers. So we are going to focus on ensuring we have the best events for you next year!”

Multiplay’s Insomnia events started as a lan event, with the Insomnia99 event back in 1999 putting 300 people in a room to make the biggest lan event in the UK. Insomnia now has grown substantially and changed its name to I(number) but still has a big chunk of esports content, making it an unfortunate loss to the UK games calendar.
