Multiplay hosting Call of Duty World League event at Insomnia 60

Multiplay has announced that it will be hosting a Call of Duty World League open event at Insomnia 60.

The CWL Birmingham Open will take place at I60, which is due to run between the 14th and 17th April at the NEC. The competition will feature a $50,000 prize pool and will have 38,000 CWL points up for grabs.

This is the first time that Multiplay has ran an official CWL event, but they have held many Call of Duty open competitions over the years. The company joins Gfinity as official UK CWL partners, with Gfinity set to run their first CWL event of the year at the end of the month.

Of course there is a lot more than the CWL event going on at Insomnia. The massive LAN halls will be full of gamers and a ton of eSports competitions, then the expo halls will give visitors a chance to check out upcoming games and hardware.

“The CWL is one of the biggest esports leagues in the world, representing one of the most popular game franchises of all time,” said Craig Fletcher, Multiplay Founder & SVP Esports and Competitive Gaming Strategy at GAME. “Having this tournament at i60 is a huge honour and shows again our continuing commitment to UK esports. We’re incredibly excited that UK fans attending the show will get the chance to participate in CWL and look forward to welcoming them to Insomnia.”
