Danish CS:GO outfit North rack up their first championship title of 2017 this weekend, clutching a win at Dreamhack Montreal.
North won out over the Brazilian CS:GO team Immortals, but the grand final was marred somewhat by Immortals forfeiting a match due to tardiness, the moment shown in this Twitch clip below.
Twitter was rife with speculation about their lateness, although CounterLogicGaming's head CS:GO coach Steve "Ryu" Rattacasa tweeted the following:
He's not the only one, and several players and members of the press tweeted alluding to Immortals having a big night in the club the night before, with Immortals management suggesting that the matter will be being looked at internally.
The dropped map and controversy surrounding Immortals punctuality issues have cast a shadow on North's stellar run in the event, with the team grabbing their first championship since they played at Epicenter 2016 last year under the Team Dignitas banner. They pocketed $50,000 for their troubles.
