Peter Moore leaves EA’s competitive gaming division to become Liverpool FC CEO

Peter Moore, the former CEO of EA and current head of the publishers competitive gaming division, is set to become the new CEO of Liverpool FC.

Last night the football club released an announcement saying that Moore will be joining the club in the summer, becoming its new CEO, where he will report directly to the club’s owners.

Moore, who has held previous management positions at Microsoft, Sega and Reebok, was born in Liverpool and is a lifelong fan of the club, making this basically his dream job.

While this is great news for Moore, it is a blow to EA who have been trying to get their competitive gaming division going for quite a while. An expanded interest in Madden and FIFA eSports from the publisher has been pretty much all it has managed to achieve publicly so far, but you have to assume they were working on something a little bigger than that.
