Rainbow Six Siege Pro League returns for year 2

Ubisoft has announced the return of the Rainbow Six Siege Pro League competition for its second year.

This year there is a few changes to the competition, with the most notable being the switch to PC only. In the first year the Pro League featured both a PC and Xbox One competition, however this year only PC will be included.

Once again there will be three seasons of competition, with the first season set to kick off on March 20th in North America, March 23rd in Europe and March 26th in Brazil. The first season will run through to May, when the live finals will decide the best team and who gets the lion’s share of the $100,000 prize pool. The first season final will take place in Katowice, Poland on May 20th and 21st.

“By going all-in with PC, we wish to bring a higher level of engagement and entertainment to the competition, promoting the positive values that we embrace: the dedication our pros have for the game, their discipline, their hard work and the sacrifices they make,” says Alexandre Remy, brand director.

Last year’s competition ended with the Six Invitational event in Montreal, Canada. I went over to check it out and spoke to both Remy and caster Christopher “Panky” Pankhurst. The Six invitational managed to reach 120,000 simultaneous viewers, with more than 1,300,000 hours of competition watched on the three-day event.
