Rainbow Six Siege will get another year of content

Despite getting off to a shaky start at launch Rainbow Six Siege has become a popular eSport, with thousands tuning in over the weekend to watch the conclusion of the latest PC and Xbox One season. During the event Ubisoft also confirmed that another year of DLC is planned for the title.

Initially Rainbow Six Siege was supposed to have four DLC packs over the course of 2016, with the fourth and final one due in just a few weeks. However the games competitive success has given it a long life, and as a result the team are now working on another year of DLC.

“The past year has been an incredible journey, and we are excited to have you join us for another full year of content,” read a tweet from the game’s official account.

There is no word on what content the extra DLC will include, or if it will follow the same format with season pass owners getting it early and not requiring in game currency. Technically all DLC so far has been free for all players, as all additions can be purchased with in game currency.

Over the weekend the best Rainbow Six teams from North America and Europe battled it out to become season 3 champions, on PC it was Continuum who came out on top while Vitality managed to secure the win for the Xbox One competition.
