Red Bull Proving Grounds Street Fighter V tournament returns in 2017

Red Bull has announced the return of its Proving Grounds Street Fighter V competition that gives amateur players a shot at playing against the pros.

The tournament has been expanded this year, with more regional events than ever. These regional events will take place in place in Orlando, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. The winner of each of these regional events will be invited to the Red Bull office in Santa Monica to compete at Red Bull Proving Grounds Finals in June along with the winners of the new online competitions.

The Proving Grounds Finals will give the top eight players the chance to win a trip to play at Evo, the biggest fighting game competition of the year, where they have the chance to match up against the best players in the world.

Red Bull has also announced that it will be partnering with multiple event organisers across the US to organise the regional events. These tournament organisers include the people responsible for events such as Level Up, Final Round and CEO.
