Rob Black promoted to chief operating officer at ESL UK

ESL UK has announced the promotion of senior product manager Rob Black to the role of chief operating officer with immediate effect.

Black, who joined the company two years ago as a product manager, and was promoted to the role of senior product manager just six months after joining the company. He’s a well known figure in the UK competitive scene, as one of the original names behind Call of Duty 4’s most well-known competitive modification, Promod.

In his new role, Black will be responsible for developing business processes and ensuring the continued efficiency and sustainability of the organisation, and ESL’s business model.

Speaking to Esports Pro, Black said: “We’re building an industry leading team of people who are incredibly passionate and know esports inside and out, I am thrilled to be a part of that process now as ESL’s UK COO. It’s a fabulously exciting & competitive time for UK esports and I am really looking forward to helping drive the industry forward.”
