SK Telecom T1 signs Peanut

League of Legends world champions SK Telecom T1 have signed Han "Peanut" Wang-ho to be their new jungler.

Peanut was a member of the ROX Tigers during the last season, where he made it to worlds as the top Korean seed and then made it to the semifinals. His Tigers side then lost to SK Telecom T1 in the now classic best of five semi final, with SKT going on to win the entire competition. He is considered to be one of, if not the, best jungler in the world and he was responsible for carrying the Tigers on many occasions. Heading to the world championship winning side now makes SKT look genuinely unbeatable, as if they weren’t already.

Earlier in the week the ROX Tigers team disbanded, with four players initially announcing free agency. Peanut was unable to comment on his future at the time as his contract ran until the end of November. With that contract now done he is free to move to SKT.

SKT have also had a busy week, announcing on Tuesday that Lee “Duke” Ho-seong and Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong had left the team. Bengi is a three time world champion and arguably the most important player in the close semi final match against ROX, so the news came as a surprise. However with today’s news it becomes a little clearer as to why he was let go, as Peanut will be taking his place in the jungle.
