Lee "Jaedong" Jae Dong, one of the most recognisable names in the world of StarCraft, has retired from competitive play after an 11 year career.
Jaedong was a member of Evil Geniuses, and was considered to be one of the best StarCraft players of all time. His rivalry with Lee "Flash" Young Ho produced some of the best StarCraft matches ever seen and his trophy cabinet is one of the more impressive in the scene.
Jaedong’s last outing will be at Blizzcon this weekend, after that he will hang up his EG jersey and retire from pro play. He is currently unsure of what will be next for him.
“I don't think I'll ever be able to forget the three years I spent with team EG,” said Jaedong. “I made so many great memories while being active overseas, and I would like to say thank you to my teammates and the staff who always treated me with kindness. Thanks to EG, I was able to meet many new people and my attitude toward my own life changed while travelling through various places around the world. I believe that the time I spent here matured me not just as a gamer, but also as a human being. I will always cheer for Team EG's success in the future. May EG be the best and everlasting team.”
