Swiss Football Club Lausanne-Sport buys local eSports org

Swiss Football Club FC Lausanne-Sport has purchased the Qualitas Helvetica eSports organisation.

The org will now operate as Lausanne-Sport eSports, but outside of that little will change in the immediate future. The org has teams in FIFA, CS:GO, Overwatch Hearthstone and Rocket League, and may be looking to expand even further with this new financial backing. All of the teams will continue as normal.

The deal will also see Lausanne create an eSports academy for French speaking players. Through this they will hope to find the next generation eSports stars.

While this is not a major deal it is a positive sign that sports orgs are prepared to go in at the lower end of the scene and build something up, instead of just throwing money at eSports.
