The Capcom Cup reached 87,000 on ESPN

The top eight portion of the Capcom Cup competition was broadcast on ESPN2 in the States over the weekend and according to initial stats it was watched by 87,000 people.

According to around 87,000 tuned into the brodcast at one point or another, with around 46,000 being between 18 and 49.

This is a long way off the reported 200,000 viewers that tuned into EVO earlier in the year, however initial reports from ESPN suggest they are happy with the viewership numbers.

The Capcom Cup was down overall in terms of concurrent viewers, however it did take place on the busiest weekend of the year that also saw the Rocket League championships, ELEAGUE Season 2 finals, the Vainglory World Championships and the Boston Major all take place.
