The Collegiate StarLeague NA finals head to Toronto

The Collegiate StarLeague has announced that its 2017 finals will take place in Toronto, Canada.

The 2017 North American Collegiate Grand Finals will be hosted at the Scotiabank Theatre in the heart of downtown Toronto. The event will run between May 12th and 14th with tickets expected to go on sale in early April.

The Collegiate StarLeague sees students from across North America compete in multiple games, with the finals of the Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and StarCraft II competitions taking place at the finals event. A League of Legends Canadian Invitational tournament will also take place in Toronto.

Almost 30,000 students competed in this years competition, with more than 900 schools getting involved. Those numbers are certainly impressive, especially when you consider that a lot of schools do not give much support to their eSports players.

“We’re so excited to announce that Toronto will host the CSL North American Grand Finals,” stated Duran Parsi, Collegiate StarLeague CEO. “Toronto has a passionate fan-base and the city is craving more live esports events.  Working with Cineplex to customize the venue will make this year’s Grand Finals our biggest event for players and fans to date.”
