The Professional eSports Association is another new CS:GO league

The Professional eSports Association is the latest CS:GO league to be announced, featuring top North American teams and player ownership of the competition.

The PEA CS:GO league will start in January of 2017 and will feature Team Solomid, Cloud9, Team Liquid, Counter Logic Gaming, Immortals, NRG eSports and compLexity Gaming, who are all founding members of PEA. The competition will run for 10 weeks, with season one featuring a prize pool of $500,000. The total prize pool for the entire year of PEA competition will be at least $1 million.

PEA offers players, owners and even casters co-ownership of the league. Players and owners will receive an equal 50% share of profits and each caster will receive a share equal to a player. Players will also be involved in key decision making, such as deciding on tournament rules and resolving any disputes within the league.

"The PEA represents something new in eSports, an association of top teams running their own league and sharing the profits and the decision-making with the players," said Jason Katz, PEA Commissioner. "This has been the architecture of traditional major sports leagues for many decades, but it is a new evolution for eSports. This will allow us to finally build a stable, healthy, long-term environment for the players, the community, the media and the sponsors."
