Evidence of micro-transactions in Metal Gear Solid V surfaces

Recent rumblings about micro-transactions in Konami’s upcoming stealth title Metal Gear Solid V appear to have been backed by Sony’s Playstation Store.

Rumours of in-game purchases began to swirl following early previews of the title appearing on various media outlets this week, with multiple reports of so-called ‘reduced time features’.

These allegedly included speeding up the time taken to build additions to the in-game Mother Base, which utilises the virtual currency GMPto provide various gameplay benefits to players.

Now it seems that these observations may be on the money, as the Italian Playstation Store listing for the title has been cited as revealing the inclusion of ‘optional in-game purchases’ (via VG247).

Whether Metal Gear Solid V will feature micro-transactions is yet to be confirmed by Konami, but given the recent trend of several PC and console releases of following the example of their mobile siblings, it may not come as a surprise should the rumours turn out to be true.
