Evolution wants free Driveclub PS+ Edition out ‘as soon as possible’

There’s still no release date for the free PlayStation Plus version of Driveclub.

The download was supposed to arrive alongside the full game last week and while buyers of the 34.99 PS+ Upgrade edition have at least been unable to download that, there’s still no sign of the much-touted PS+ release.

We are still also working hard to get the PS Plus Edition of Driveclub out as soon as possible and hope to update you on this soon,” a statement from the studio claimed.

Evolution also insists, much as it did yesterday, that server improvements are ongoing although many gamers report little improvement in the situation that has left one of Sony’s tentpole online titles without many key functionality elements.

The latest game update (1.04) is now available to download worldwide and you will need to install it in order to play online,” it added. Your PS4 will prompt you to download the update from PSN as soon as you fire up the game.

More servers and new upgrades are still coming online hour-by-hour, so we expect improvements to server connectivity and reliability for everyone. We will be bringing Face-offs back into play soon.

Essential diagnostics are still running periodically (for the next 12 hours) to help us continue to improve server performance. This may disrupt online play for you when you get connected.”
