Middleware house believes new service could have major time and cost-saving potential

Faceware sets up synchronous video and voice mo-cap service

Facial capture studio Faceware Technologies, together with translation and audio services firm Binari Sonori, is attempting to raise the quality of video and voiceover localisation in video games.

The new video-based localisation service uses Faceware’s headcam technology to capture video of a voice actor’s performance, while simultaneously capturing audio, thus saving time for the actors and animators.

Faceware and Binari Sonori claim that new service could have major time and cost-saving potential for animating lip movements by automatically syncing audio and animation for any language.

The video below demonstrates the tech in action, with games such as Grand Theft Auto V and Battlefield: Bad Company.
