FIFA No.1 for third week, Gears of War 4 debuts at No.2

13 new games launched this week in the UK Top 40, with FIFA 17 coming out on top once again.

According to GfK, over 80 new SKUs launched across the software, hardware and accessories charts. Software revenue rose ten per cent year-on-year.

EA’s football title saw a 55 per cent dip in sales week-on-week. Gears of War 4 debuted in second place. Meanwhile 2K Games’ Mafia III falls one place to No.3 with a 54 per cent sales decline. 2K’s WWE 2K17 launched at No.4.

The PlayStation 4 SKU of Rise of the Tomb Raider – 20 Year Edition – debuts in fifth place ahead of this year’s Skylanders, Imaginators, which ‘strongly’ according to GfK at No.8.

Last week also saw the debut of PlayStation VR. The top-charting game for the new hardware was PlayStation VR Worlds, which went straight to No.7, ahead of Until Dawn spin-off Rush of Blood, which debuted in ninth place.

Mech multiplayer shooter Rigs, from Guerrila Cambridge, debuted at No.12, which Eve Valykrie launched at No.20.
