Helsinki studio set to hire new team of veterans to work on strategy game

Finnish developer PlayRaven secures £2.3m in funding

Finnish developer PlayRaven has secured £2.3 million in seed investment.

The Helsinki studio, formed by a team of veterans from companies including Remedy Entertainment, Wooga and Digital Chocolate, said it would use the money to hire another veteran development team to work on a new strategy game for touch-screen devices.

The developer is working on developing strategy title Spymaster, set during the Second World War, and is set to be released in Spring.

"This seed funding enables us to expand our team and build a portfolio of unique high-quality strategy games aimed at new mobile audiences worldwide," said PlayRaven CEO Lasse Seppänen.

Founded just last year, PlayRaven was recently named as one of the top game start-ups in Europe in the Develop 100, which you can view free on your browser and iPad.
