Fire Emblem: Awakening nearing 2m sales

Fire Emblem: Awakening is nearing – and possibly already surpassed – 2m sales, according to developer Intelligent Systems.

VG247 points to a new promotional page for the upcoming Fire Emblem: If, which confirms the game has sold 1.79m copies as of December 2014.

Five months have passed since the figure was totaled, so at this point it’s probably safe to assume Awakening’s sales are hovering near or beyond the 2m mark.

The game initially released April 2012 in Japan for Nintendo 3DS, with the North American, European and Australian releases all launching in early 2013.

Fire Emblem: If is scheduled to launch in Japan on June 26th, with a western release planned for 2016.
