Fishlabs Entertainment, the developer and publisher of premium games for smartphones and tablets, has add two new members to its team.
The Hamburg-based mobile specialists have recruited Patrick Heyer as senior producer and Sirko Rückmann as lead game designer. Both will be working on an upcoming multiplayer title, which is yet to be announced.
“The release of our first multiplayer title is surely going to be a particularly important milestone for Fishlabs and the time could hardly be better to release a free-to-play game for smartphones and tablets,” said Michael Schade, CEO of Fishlabs.
“If you have played any of our previous games, you will know that we are always eager to offer our fans the best and most compelling gaming experiences we can – and that is exactly what we are going to do with our upcoming multiplayer game as well.
“However, in order to achieve that goal, we need a strong and competent team. And that’s where Sirko and Patrick come in, because they both have the right amount of experience and skills to help us develop and maintain a high-quality title.”
Computer scientist Sirko Rückmann (pictured main), 32, has more than five years of experience in game design. He has previously worked for Bigpoint and Ticking Bomb Games as a game designer before taking the position of lead game designer at GoodGame Studios. Rückmann also taught Game Design at the HAW Hamburg from March 2010 to February 2012.
Patrick Heyer (pictured left), 29, is well-known to Fishlabs, since working for the firm back in 2008. Before moving to Bigpoint in February 2009, Heyer worked as community manager, and also wrote his bachelor’s thesis on mobile game development. At Bigpoint, he then progressed from viral marketing manager and lead developer and software architect, before he finally taking on the role of the producer for the successful browser game Seafight in 2011.
